I have been fortunate enough to have attended 4
of NFK concerts. While the Ustad's fusion
work is awesome, its his pure un***rated qawali
like this one that I admire the most.

I cant´t really say thank you - more I offer you
a deeply felt gratitude to see Nusrat at WOMAD in
a time, when I didn´t know who Nusrat was. The
starting point with Nusrat for me was the O.S.T.
"Passion" from Peter Gabriel where I
first he...ard Nusrat´s Voice and instantaneously
I had to get every record I could get from this
voice - from this pure voice that was able to
reach into my inner core and make me feel alive
with music and joy - and it still does - I had
tears of joy in my eyes after seeing this video.
It is sad, that Nusrat died so early and in the
same year also Jeff Buckley - they both were
unique and had voices you had to experience live -
I was lucky to see Jeff perform once in 1995 in
Ludwigsburg in Germany - but it never worked out
to see Nusrat - so I listen to their music anytime
I feel to and everytime it gives back more -
everytime I hear Nusrat´s or Jeff´s Voice
something in me clicks and is just happy to be
alive. Inshallah - Michael

Muhteşem bir ses... Allah rahmet eylesin,
mekanı cennet olsun... Thanks for sharing...
Nit Khair manga - is this the correct title for
this quwali? I though it was "Yaadan wichray
sajan diyan.."Either way, this type of pure
(basic instruments and supreme voice; no modern
noisy instruments) performances from NFAK are
gems.

Nusrat's greatness was his ability to
transcend the form of music to which he lent his
voice. The instrumentation, western or eastern,
was just a vehicle in which he travelled with
equal ease. His voice and his genius knew no such
bounds. That is the reason of his popularity***ong
all musicians of all nationalities and ethnic
origins.

This is great, but the title is wrong, it should
be "Yadaan vichre sajan.." not "Nit
Khair Mangan", which I think is the best of
the lot, with***azing melodic structures and
variations in the three versions currently on
youtube. These three versions of 'Nit Khair
Mangan' in my view, prove beyond a shadow of
doubt his genius as a musician rather than a mere
qawwal.
